Richard Sechrest, Psy.D.

Dr. Rick Sechrest is currently a psychology associate working with Dr. John Lefkowits at Suburban Psychology LLC in Columbia, Maryland. He has a wide array of experiences in the areas of child, family and individual assessment and therapy. Dr. Sechrest earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Loyola College in Baltimore. He completed an APA/APPIC approved clinical internship at the Institute for Human Adjustment at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. While there, Dr. Sechrest worked in concurrent internships at the University of Michigan's Psychological Clinic and at the University's Center for Child and Family. He successfully completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Mental Health Department of the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Dr. Sechrest is an affiliate faculty member of Loyola College in Maryland. He also works in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, Sheppard Pratt Health Systems, the Maryland State Department of Education and the University of Maryland as a behavioral consultant. Dr. Sechrest has given numerous presentations on behavioral intervention techniques across the state for professional conferences and trainings. He has presented at the annual convention of the American Psychological Convention and has co-authored several articles about improving behavior management.
